Why the Sky Addons Blog Is Only Starting Now

If you’ve clicked the Blog link on this site before, you found an empty page. That wasn’t an oversight. For a long time we decided that the most useful writing we could do for Sky Addons wasn’t a blog post at all.

We wrote documentation before articles

When someone installs an Elementor addon, the first question is rarely “what’s new?” It’s “how do I make this widget do what I need?” A blog post almost never answers that. A good documentation page does.

So that’s where our writing went. The Sky Addons documentation now has 187 guides, each tied to a single widget or feature. They’re written for the person who already has the editor open and is looking for one setting, not for someone skimming a feature list.

We still think that was the right order. It’s also why this page stayed empty.

Live demos did the job a blog usually does

The other half of the work was the demo site. Every widget in the widget library has its own page where it runs live. You can scroll it, resize the window and open it on your phone before you install anything.

A screenshot in an article can’t compete with that, so we kept building demos instead of writing about them.

Our writing already had a home at wowDevs

Sky Addons is made by wowDevs, and wowDevs already runs a blog at wowdevs.com/blog. Most of what we wanted to say in longer form went there. Running a second blog for the same small team felt like splitting readers in two for no real benefit.

So what changed?

Two things.

First, the docs and demos are in good shape. They grow with every release, but they no longer need all of our attention.

Second, some questions don’t fit inside a doc page. How do you keep an Elementor site fast with an addon pack installed? Which widgets make sense on a landing page? What changed in the last release, and do you need to do anything about it? Those answers need more room, and they belong next to the product they’re about.

• Performance and SEO advice you can check on your own pages
• Breakdowns of real page sections, from the first layout to the finished design

We’d rather publish on a steady schedule than publish a lot. Every post should be worth the few minutes it takes to read.

The docs and demos aren’t going anywhere

Nothing is moving out of the documentation. If you need to know how a specific widget works, the docs are still the fastest route, and the changelog and roadmap stay public. The blog covers everything around them.
