This policy explains what personal information wowDevs collects when you visit skyaddons.com, buy or use Sky Addons, or contact our team — why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Sky Addons is a product of wowDevs. wowDevs is the controller of the personal information described in this policy — in other words, we decide how and why it is used. You can contact us at [email protected].
This policy covers skyaddons.com, your wowDevs account (account.wowdevs.com) as it relates to Sky Addons, our support channels, and the connections the Sky Addons plugins make to our servers. It does not cover the websites you build with Sky Addons — see “Your website’s visitors” below.
2. Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address and password when you create or use your wowDevs account.
- Order details — the details FastSpring shares with us when you buy, such as your name, email address, country, what you bought and, if you gave them, your company name and VAT number. We never receive your full card number.
- Support requests — what you send us by ticket, email, live chat or WhatsApp, including attachments, your site URL and any login details you choose to share for troubleshooting.
- Email updates and promotions — your email address if you subscribe to updates or take part in a promotion or giveaway.
3. Collected automatically
- Server logs — IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring page, and date and time. We use these to run and secure the website.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the website is used: pages viewed, time on page, device type, approximate location and how you arrived. We look at this information in aggregate and do not use it to identify you.
- Cookies — see the Cookies section below.
4. Data from the plugins
Sky Addons runs on your WordPress site. It contacts our servers only in the cases below, and it never sends us your website visitors’ personal information.
- Pro licence activation and updates. When you activate Sky Addons Pro, and regularly afterwards, your site sends your licence key, site URL and plugin version to our licence server (licenses.wowdevs.com) to validate the licence and deliver updates.
- Usage insights — only if you opt in. The free plugin may show a notice asking for permission. Only if an administrator clicks “Allow & Continue” does the plugin send: the admin user’s first and last name, the site’s admin email address, the site URL and name, WordPress and PHP versions, site language, memory limit, multisite status, the active theme, and the list of installed plugins with their versions. It goes to dashboard.wowdevs.com, is refreshed from time to time, and helps us improve compatibility and tell you about important updates. Clicking “Skip” sends nothing. To have this information deleted, contact us.
- Deactivation feedback. When you deactivate the free plugin, you may be asked why. Nothing is sent unless you submit the form. If you do, the reasons you tick and any comment you write are sent to dashboard.wowdevs.com together with the same site and admin details listed under usage insights above.
- Templates library and dashboard news. When you open the templates library or the plugin dashboard, your site downloads content from skyaddons.com and wowdevs.com. As with any web request, our servers see your site’s IP address. We do not use it to identify you.
5. How we use it
We use personal information for the purposes below. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, the legal basis for each is shown in italics.
- To deliver what you bought — process orders, issue and validate licences, and provide downloads and updates. Performance of our contract with you.
- To support you — answer your tickets, chats and emails. Contract, and our legitimate interest in helping users.
- To keep things secure — prevent fraud, licence abuse and attacks. Legitimate interests, and legal obligations where they apply.
- To improve Sky Addons and the website — through analytics and opt-in usage insights. Legitimate interests, or your consent where the law requires it.
- To send service emails — receipts and licence, renewal and security notices. Contract and legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails — news and offers, only if you have agreed or where the law allows. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us. Consent or legitimate interests.
- To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting and responding to lawful requests. Legal obligation.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies — to keep you signed in, protect forms and make checkout work.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics cookies such as
_ga and _ga_*, which tell visitors apart and can last up to two years. - Service cookies — set by FastSpring when you open checkout, by Google reCAPTCHA on account forms, and by our live chat provider where chat is available.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
7. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- FastSpring — our reseller and merchant of record, which processes payments, taxes, invoices and subscriptions under its own privacy policy.
- Google — for Analytics, Tag Manager, Fonts and reCAPTCHA (privacy policy).
- Communication tools — our live chat provider tawk.to (privacy policy), WhatsApp (operated by Meta) if you message us there, which shares your phone number, profile name and messages with us under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy, and the email services we use to send and receive email. Please do not send passwords or licence keys over WhatsApp.
- Hosting and security providers — the companies that host, protect and back up our websites and servers.
- Gravatar (Automattic) — where profile pictures are shown (privacy policy).
- Professional advisers and authorities — lawyers and accountants, or public authorities when the law requires it or to protect our rights, users and services.
- A buyer or successor — if wowDevs or Sky Addons is sold, merged or reorganised, with the same protections described here.
Service providers working on our behalf may use your information only to provide their services to us.
8. International transfers
wowDevs is based in Bangladesh, and our service providers operate in several countries, including the United States and the European Union. Your information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. Where the law requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses our providers offer.
9. How long we keep it
- Account, order and licence records — while your account or licence is active, then for as long as tax, accounting and legal obligations require.
- Support conversations — for as long as they help us support you and keep a support history, then deleted or anonymised.
- Opt-in usage insights — until you ask us to delete them, or until they are no longer needed.
- Analytics data — for the retention period set in Google Analytics.
- Email lists — until you unsubscribe.
10. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit access to people who need it and choose providers with strong security practices. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you share site login details in a support request, please use a temporary account and remove it once we are done.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- have your information deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it — including objecting to marketing at any time;
- receive your information in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent where we rely on it, without affecting earlier use.
EEA and UK: you can also complain to your local data protection authority — find yours on the EDPB website, or contact the ICO in the UK. We would appreciate the chance to help first.
California and other US states: you can ask what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and ask us to correct or delete it. We do not sell personal information, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will reply within one month, and requests are free of charge.
12. Children
Our website and products are made for people building websites. They are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Your website’s visitors
When you use Sky Addons to build a website, you are responsible for the personal information your site collects from its visitors — for example through forms, login and registration pages, or integrations such as reCAPTCHA, social feeds, Google reviews, IP-based country detection and webhooks. That information stays on your site and with the services you connect; it is not sent to wowDevs. Please describe it in your own privacy policy and ask for consent where the law requires.
14. Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as WordPress.org, YouTube, Facebook and FastSpring. They have their own privacy practices, so please read their policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change, and change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will let you know by email or with a notice on the website.
