Drag the Rounded Cursor widget from Sky Addons for Elementor onto the page. Unlike most widgets it draws nothing where it sits — it attaches a rotating circular-text cursor to the pointer. Place it in a header or footer template and the cursor follows visitors across the whole site.
Yes. Put comma-separated CSS selectors in the Target Class field, such as .my-work, #hero, and the cursor fades in only while the pointer is inside those elements. Leave it empty and the whole document becomes the target area; a selector that matches nothing quietly falls back to the whole document.
By design. In edit mode the widget prints a small placeholder notice instead, because a cursor that hijacks the pointer inside the editor would make the canvas hard to work with. Preview the page or open it on the front end to see the real effect.
Anything you type into the Text Area, including emoji. Each character is split out and placed around a circle, evenly spaced, so short phrases like a repeated brand name read best. Radius Size sets the circle, from 60 to 200 pixels, and assumes 80 when untouched.
Rotate Speed sets the seconds per full turn, from 3 to 20, defaulting to 5. The spinning border ring has its own timing, Cursor Spin Speed, from 1 to 10 seconds with a default of 2, so the text and the ring can turn at different rates.
Yes. Switch Cursor Radius Spin Effects off in the Layout section and the ring disappears, leaving the rotating text alone. The whole Cursor Styles panel — ring size 50 to 200 pixels, border width 1 to 10, and its two gradient colours — is hidden along with it.
Auto Color Change is on by default and applies a difference blend to the cursor, so it inverts against whatever is behind it and never disappears into a matching background. Turn it off if you would rather set one fixed text colour and control the contrast yourself.
Fully. Text Colour is a background group control, so it takes a solid colour or a gradient — it ships as a 45-degree white-to-light-grey blend. Full Elementor typography controls apply to the characters, and a text stroke group lets you run outlined letters instead of filled ones.
No, and deliberately so. The script checks for a coarse pointer and stops before drawing anything, so touch visitors see their normal interface. It also stands down when the visitor has reduced motion enabled at the operating-system level, with no separate accessibility switch to set.
No. The cursor is drawn on a fixed layer with pointer events switched off, so every click passes straight through to the link or button underneath. It sits at a high stacking level so it stays above sticky headers and overlays rather than sliding behind them.
No. It comes with Sky Addons Pro and runs on free Elementor. Site-wide placement is the only thing that benefits from a theme-builder header or footer; on a single page you simply drop the widget anywhere in the layout and it applies to that page.
Pick Rounded Cursor when the look you want is spinning circular text with a rotating gradient ring; it is a widget, and the text is the whole point. Pick the Cursor Effects extension when you want a ring, icon, image or video pointer that grows on links, shows labels and can be set from Site Settings.
