How do I add social media icons in Elementor without Pro?

Use the Social Icons widget in Sky Addons for Elementor. Each row takes an icon and the URL of your profile, and the whole set is styled from the panel — so a header, footer or author box gets a proper icon row on free Elementor with no extra plugin.

Which social networks can the icon row show?

Any of them. Sky Addons’ Social Icons widget does not ship a fixed network list — each row takes any icon from the Elementor icon library, with the Font Awesome brand set surfaced as recommendations, or your own uploaded SVG. A Discord, Threads or Bluesky mark is added exactly like a Facebook one.

What is the difference between Social Icons and Social Share?

Direction of travel. Sky Addons’ Social Icons widget links out to your profiles, so a visitor can go and follow you; the Social Share widget posts the page the visitor is currently reading to their network. Most sites want both, in different places — icons in the footer, share buttons under the article.

Can each icon have its own colour?

Yes. Icon colour, background, border and label colour are set on the individual row, with a second set for hover — so a brand-coloured YouTube icon can sit beside a neutral LinkedIn one. Sky Addons for Elementor also exposes size, padding, border, shadow and opacity for the row as a whole.

Can the icons stack vertically for a sidebar?

Yes. One Direction control switches the Social Icons widget between a horizontal row and a vertical column, with alignment handled separately, so the same widget serves a footer strip and a fixed sidebar rail. Sky Addons for Elementor keeps spacing between the icons on its own slider.

Can I show network names next to the icons?

Yes, per icon. Switch on the name for a row, type whatever wording you want, and place every label to the right of its icon, above it or below it. Sky Addons for Elementor styles the labels as their own section, and a single switch hides all of them for a compact icon-only row.

Can I put a divider between the social icons?

Yes. Sky Addons’ Social Icons widget can draw its built-in separator at a width you set, or use any character you type — a slash, a bullet, a middle dot — with its own colour, typography and spacing. It suits a text-style footer credit line more than a button row.

Can I dim the other icons when one is hovered?

Yes. Dim Others on Hover fades every icon except the one under the cursor, and you set exactly how far it fades on a 0 to 1 slider. It is a small focus cue that makes a long icon row feel deliberate, and Sky Addons for Elementor keeps it to one switch.

Can the icons be a squircle or organic shape, not a circle?

Yes. Alongside the ordinary radius, Sky Addons’ Social Icons widget has an Advanced Border Radius field that accepts a full CSS radius string with separate horizontal and vertical values — the blob or leaf shapes a plain corner radius cannot make. The shape applies to the icon and its background together.

Can I make the icons animate on hover?

Yes, using Elementor’s own hover animation list — grow, shrink, pulse, float, bob and the rest — picked from a dropdown on the Social Icons widget. Sky Addons for Elementor layers it over the separate hover colour, background, border, shadow and opacity settings rather than replacing them.

Do the profile links open in a new tab?

They can. Each row uses Elementor’s standard link field, so the new-tab and nofollow options are there per icon, along with custom attributes. Sky Addons for Elementor sets nothing behind your back — a link with no target simply opens in the same tab, which is the WordPress default.

Can I add the icon row to every page at once?

Yes. Place the Social Icons widget in a header or footer template and it renders on every page using that part, so profile URLs are edited in one place. Sky Addons for Elementor keeps all of it inside Elementor, so there is no separate settings screen holding a second copy of your links.
