Fellow Slider

Two columns: a large feature slide on one side and a scrolling playlist of the same posts on the other. The Fellow Slider widget in Sky Addons for Elementor is built for editorial front pages where the running order should stay visible while one story holds the stage.

Yes. Turn Show Playlist off and the two-column grid collapses to one full-width feature slide. The playlist rows are not rendered at all in that state rather than hidden with CSS, so the second loop over your posts costs nothing on the page.

Yes — each row jumps the feature slider to that post, and the highlight follows the slider when autoplay moves it too. The rail scrolls itself just enough to bring the active row into view, without dragging the whole page towards the widget.

The playlist is a plain scrolling list rather than a second carousel, so wheel, touch momentum, keyboard and screen-reader scrolling all come from the browser. Its scrollbar has a Show Scrollbar switch plus size and colour controls if you want it visible.

Whatever the Query tab selects. Source covers any public post type plus Manual Selection, Current Query and Related, with a limit, include or exclude by author and term, offset, a date range, order by and order. The default limit is six posts.

Yes. Switch Show Video on and the widget reads a video URL from a custom field — the key defaults to a Sky Addons meta key but you can point it at any ACF, SCF, Pods or plain post-meta field. A play button then opens the URL in a lightbox, or links to the file directly.

Title, image, category, author, date and text each have their own switch. Text Limit trims the excerpt to a word count, and Strip ShortCode removes shortcodes left in the excerpt so a page-builder shortcode does not print as raw text in the slide.

The active row gets its own title colour and border colour, plus an optional Indicator Bar whose width and colour you set. All three are separate from the hover state, so the row under the cursor and the row on screen can look different.

No — it runs on free Elementor, and it is part of the free Sky Addons plugin rather than the Pro add-on. It does need real published posts to query, so an empty post type produces an empty widget rather than placeholder slides.
