Can I build a diamond or hexagon image grid in Elementor?

Yes — the Diamond Gallery widget in Sky Addons for Elementor draws tiles in four shapes: Diamond, Tile, Ellipse and Hexagon. Alternate rows are offset into a honeycomb pattern, and you choose whether the even or the odd rows shift, and whether the ragged edges left at the sides get filled in.

How many columns does the Diamond Gallery show on mobile?

Two by default. The Grid Columns control runs from 1 to 12 and is set per device, shipping at five columns on desktop, three on tablet and two on phones. The grid measures the width of its own container rather than the viewport, so a gallery dropped into a narrow column reflows correctly on its own.

Do I need a separate lightbox plugin for this gallery?

No — Sky Addons’ Diamond Gallery carries its own lightbox and opens it on click by default. It supports keyboard arrows, an adjustable touch-swipe threshold, and a caption panel built from each item’s title and description. If you would rather link out, switch the Click Action to Redirect, or to None for a display-only grid.

Does the Diamond Gallery widget require Elementor Pro?

No. The Diamond Gallery ships in Sky Addons Pro and runs on free Elementor with any theme. Its stylesheet and the grid script are registered as dependencies of the widget itself, so Elementor enqueues them only on pages where a Diamond Gallery is actually placed — nothing loads site-wide.

Does the Diamond Gallery lazy-load its images?

Yes — lazy loading is on by default, so a tile fetches its picture only once it scrolls into view. Watch the Image Size control, though: it ships set to Full, so a gallery of large uploads downloads them at full resolution. Point it at Medium or Large and the payload drops sharply.

Will Google index images placed in a Diamond Gallery?

No — each tile is painted into an HTML canvas element rather than output as a standard image tag, which is how the diamond and hexagon shapes get cut. The gallery therefore needs JavaScript to appear at all. For photos that must rank in image search, use a conventional image grid widget instead.

What shows in a Diamond Gallery tile before the image loads?

A solid preloader fills the tile, and you pick its colour — black by default. The grid takes its geometry from the column count and the Aspect Ratio slider (1 is square, below 1 stretches vertically, above 1 horizontally), not from the photos, so the layout is settled before any image arrives.

Can Diamond Gallery tiles change on hover?

Yes. Switching hover on gives each tile its own greyscale level, an overlay colour with separate opacity, an image zoom scale, and a short caption that scales up over the picture. The resting state has a greyscale slider of its own, so a mono grid that turns full colour under the cursor is two settings.

Can the Diamond Gallery run wider than my content column?

Yes — the Grid Position control has two modes. Inline sizes the gallery to its container, while Outline sizes it to the viewport instead, so tiles bleed past a boxed content column. A separate Grid Item Size percentage, from 1 to 100, shrinks each tile within its cell to open up the gaps.

Can the Diamond Gallery pull posts instead of manual images?

Yes. Set the Gallery Source to Post Type and every tile takes its featured image, title and excerpt from the query you build in the Query tab. The title renders in whichever heading tag you choose, the excerpt can be trimmed to a word count, and an optional Read More link points at the post.
