It is a strip of thumbnail images that controls a slider elsewhere on the page. Remote Thumbs is a Sky Addons for Elementor widget with no slider inside it — clicking a thumbnail sends the carousel it is paired with to that slide, wherever on the page the carousel sits.
Put a CSS ID on the carousel in its Advanced tab and enter the same ID, without the hash, in the widget Remote ID field. Automatic detection exists as a fallback but only searches the classic Elementor section around the widget, so naming the ID is the reliable route.
No — you choose each image yourself in the Item List, one row per slide. That is the point: the thumbnail can be a tighter crop, a portrait version, a logo or an entirely different picture from the slide it opens, which a built-in thumbnail strip cannot do.
Yes. Width and height are set twice — once for the resting state and once for the active one — so the current thumbnail can grow while the rest stay small. Colour, border colour and radius also have separate normal, hover and active values.
The Slider Loop On? switch is out of step with the carousel. A looping Swiper adds duplicate slides at each end, so the widget must address slides differently depending on that setting — match the switch to the slider Loop and the offset disappears.
Yes, in both directions. Clicking a thumbnail moves the slider, and the slider advancing under autoplay or a swipe moves the highlight to the matching thumbnail. Nothing needs to be configured for that sync beyond the pairing itself.
Yes. Layout offers a row or a column, alignment covers left, centre, right, space-between and space-around, and a gap control sets the spacing. An offset popover and a rotate slider let the strip overlap the slider or sit at an angle beside it.
Yes — each widget resolves its own target, so give every carousel its own CSS ID and point each strip at the right one. Two strips left on automatic detection inside the same section is what makes both drive the same slider.
The strip renders but the clicks do nothing, because the widget looks for a live Swiper instance inside the target. In the Elementor editor a notice appears on the widget explaining that the slider could not be found by ID or automatically, which is your cue to check the target.
Placement and control: built-in thumbnails live directly under their slider, while these can go in a sidebar, over the image, or in the next section entirely. It needs no Elementor Pro licence, ships with Sky Addons Pro, and pairs with Remote Arrows and Remote Pagination on the same carousel.
